With more than 13,000 (some say over 17,000) thousand islands, more than 300 languages and cultures, Indonesia is definitely a unique place to visit. The official language isBahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language), although many people (especially in big cities) speak English. Most people also speak their own (native) languages. In small vilages, some old people do not even speak Bahasa Indonesia. They speak their own native languages. Jakarta

West Java (Jawa Barat)

West Java covers 46,300 sq. hectares or roughly one third of the Java island. West Java has roughly 35 millions inhabitants. It is the most populous and the most productive province in Indonesia.
Bandung is the capital of West Java. It is used to be called the Paris of Java, and the Flower City. It is also very romantic. Weather wise, it is used to be a "cool" city. It is also famous for its beautiful girls. (This is a biased statement, since I lived in Bandung.) To get to Bandung from Jakarta, have a look at this page.
